How we bring brands to life | 3D Explainer & brand video for Zetanimo

THE MISSION

As part of the launch of my new personal brand, I felt the need to create a piece of content that would be representative of the quality and level of polish my clients can expect. Something that would include animation and design techniques that I can offer them that haven't been explored in previous creative endeavors.

Therefore I decided to create a fully abstract, voiced, and 3D explainer video that serves as a visual exploration of the creative process that goes behind the animation of brands.

THE OUTCOME

I decided to go for an abstract style to showcase and explain the concepts in a more vague, non-descriptive way, by doing this my goal was to make a video that could be applied to anything related to bringing something to life, relying on simple and clean shapes, giving them personality through rendering and cinematography techniques.

Although the video went through multiple versions and the initial storyboard had quite a bit of change, we managed to complete the video in the end by sticking to the main message, reducing the bloat of the story, and keeping the script simple and concise.

SERVICES

For this project, I pretty much did everything but the VO, animation, design, texturing, lighting and rendering, editing and sound design, and directing the VO artist.

VO and some extra direction was done by Gievah Villarin, my business partner.

THE IMPACT

With the video complete, now the Zetanimo brand has a fully-fledged 3d motion design piece that is done in their brand voice and will serve as a solid portfolio piece that, thanks to its abstract nature, can be representative of any type of video they may be requested to make, whether it'd be product videos, explainers or commercials, this style can be applied and adapted to anything.

It wouldn't be possible to update the brand's reel or portfolio without this piece, so this shall be the foundation for Zetanimo's upcoming success.

But how did I do it?

Creative inspiration, clean, abstract, simple.

Moodboard

The initial rough storyboard, bloated, but has the right idea, most of it was cut to make it viable.

Storyboard

Final script once all editing and styleframes were produced.
